Spread the cost with retail finance

We're a finance provider partnering with UK companies to offer a variety of financing options to their customers. When you choose to pay with Zopa, you can spread the cost of your purchases in monthly instalments of 3 to 120 months, using interest-free or interest-bearing credit. The application process is quick and simple.

We partner with a wide range of UK companies, so you can apply to pay with Zopa wherever you see us as a payment option at checkout. Follow these simple steps:

1. Choose Zopa as your payment option at the checkout.

2. Fill in a simple form to tell us a few details about you and your circumstances. Don't worry, this won't affect your credit score.

3. If you're eligible, you'll be able to apply for finance online. You’ll need to provide a valid UK debit card to set up your monthly repayments.

As a responsible lender, we take several things into account to help us decide if we can offer you retail finance. You'll need to:

• verify your identity

• be at least 18  years old

• be a UK resident with at least 2 years of address history

• be able to afford the loan (in relation to your income and outgoings)

• have a valid UK debit card

• have a valid UK mobile number

When you apply for retail finance with us, we carry out two credit checks. A soft search and a hard search.

The soft search helps us check whether you’re eligible for Zopa retail finance. Only you can see it on your credit report, and it won’t affect your credit score.

If you're eligible and decide to go ahead, we'll carry out a hard search before you place your order. This leaves a record on your credit file that other lenders can see, which may affect your credit score.

There are a few reasons why you may not be able to submit your application:

• The billiing address in your application doesn't match your shipping address or the billing address linked to your debit card.

• Your details may already be linked to another Zopa agreement. If you’ve had an agreement with us before, try applying again using your existing details.

• Your application link may have expired or been cancelled. Ask the company you're buying from to send you a new link.

All retail finance applications are assessed automatically against our lending criteria. If your application is declined, it means you didn't meet our lending criteria at the time of your application. Unfortunately, we're unable to manually review or overturn lending decisions. 

What happens next?

If you believe the information used to assess your application may be incorrect, you can review your credit report with Equifax or the relevant credit reference agency before applying again.

Please note that submitting another application immediately is unlikely to result in a different outcome unless your circumstances have changed.

Once you've successfully placed an order, we'll create an online account on the Zopa website for you. We'll send you an email with instructions on how to set a password and activate your account.

You can use your account to check the status of your orders, view your account history, make payments, and more.
