What is Zap?

watch_laterUpdated about 24 hours ago

Zap lets you move money between your accounts with different banks, and to payees, without leaving the Zopa app.

How it works

  1. Connect your accounts to Zap – head to the bottom of the Payments tab in the Zopa app.

  2. Once you've connected your accounts, you can move money securely with just a tap – no need to authorise anything in your other banking apps.

  3. We'll pull the payment from your chosen account into your Zopa bank account, then straight on to the recipient – whether that's one of your own accounts or a payee.

  4. Don't worry – Zap is completely secure, and we'll never move money unless you ask us to.

Which accounts can I connect?

Not all banks support Zap yet. You can currently connect: Barclays, Bank of Scotland, Halifax, First Direct, HSBC, Lloyds, Monzo, Nationwide, NatWest, RBS, Santander, and Ulster Bank. We're hoping to add more banks over time.

Zap payment limits

There are two limits on how much you can move with Zap:

  • Monthly limit – the total amount you can send through Zap each month, set at £5,000

  • Individual payment limit – the maximum you can send in a single Zap payment, set at £5,000

You can't make a single Zap payment over £5,000, or move more than £5,000 in total across a month. A payment will only go through if there's enough money available in the account you're sending from.
