How do I set up a Direct Debit?

The fastest way to set up a Direct Debit is using the ‘Ask’ tab in the Zopa app. 

Or you can: 

1.     Click into your credit card from the ‘Spend’ or ‘Borrow’ tab. 

2.     Tap ‘Manage’.

3.     Click ‘Payments’.

4.     Tap ‘Set up automatic payment’. 

5.     Select ‘Direct Debit’  and put in the details.

Once that’s done, we’ll send you an email to confirm when everything’s set up.

How do I edit my Direct Debit?

You can edit your Direct Debit amount or due date in the Zopa app. Here’s how:  

1.     Open the Zopa app and click into your credit card from the ‘Spend’ or ‘Borrow’ tab.

2.     Tap ‘Manage’.

3.     Hit ‘Payments’. 

4.     Click ‘Direct Debit information’.

5.     Tap ‘Change’ on the date or payment amount.  

You’ll receive an email to confirm when your details are updated. Please note, due date changes will only take place from the next statement cycle. That means there may be one more payment using your old details.  

To change the bank you’re paying from, you’ll need to cancel your existing Direct Debit and set up a new one.  

Also, if you’ve already received the heads-up email about your upcoming Direct Debit – which is sent around 7 days before the payment is taken – any changes to the amount will only apply after the upcoming payment is complete.  

How do I cancel my Direct Debit?

You can do this anytime in the Zopa app. Here’s how:  

1.     Open the Zopa app and click into your credit card from the ‘Spend’ or ‘Borrow’ tab. 

2.     Tap ‘Manage’.

3.     Tap ‘Payments’. 

4.     Click ‘Direct Debit information’ at the top of the page. 

5.     Tap ‘Cancel Direct Debit’ at the bottom of the page. 

6.     Select .Yes, cancel my Direct Debit. You’ll then receive an email to confirm when your request is complete 

Don’t forget, if you cancel your Direct Debit without setting up another automatic payment, you’ll need to make your monthly repayments manually.
