How do you verify my identity?

To verify your identity, we need you to upload a photo of your ID and take a selfie. We compare the two to confirm it's really you applying for the account.

You have seven days from the time you start your application to upload your documents, so no worries if you don't have them to hand right away.

When you upload your ID, make sure it's still valid, that all four corners are visible, and that the name and date of birth match your Zopa application. If you've entered the wrong details, get in touch with us.

The app guides you through it step by step. To help things go smoothly, find a well-lit spot in front of a plain, neutral background, and check that your face is clearly in frame with nothing blocking it.

We use Mitek to run our ID checks. They're specialists in identity verification and use a securely encrypted connection to keep your data safe.
