Can I transfer my Smart ISA to another provider?
scheduleUpdated 1 day ago
Yes, you can transfer all or part of your Smart ISA to another provider at any time, subject to ISA rules and your new provider accepting the transfer.
A few things you should know:
To start a full or partial transfer, you’ll need to get in touch with your new ISA provider, who’ll initiate the transfer on your behalf.
You can choose to transfer all or part of your Smart ISA balance. If you make a partial transfer, your remaining Smart ISA balance and any pots not included in the transfer will stay open.
Transferring to another cash ISA can take up to 15 business days. Transferring to another type of ISA, such as a stocks and shares ISA, can take up to 30 business days.
If any money you want to transfer out is held in a Fixed Term ISA pot, you'll either need to wait for the fixed term to end or pay an interest charge to break the fixed term early, which we'll deduct before transferring the funds to your new ISA provider.
You’ll be asked for your ISA roll number on your transfer form. This is the same as your Smart ISA reference number and can be found in your Smart Savings Hub by clicking Manage, Account information, then Smart ISA details. You won’t need to include an account number or sort code on your transfer form. For partial transfers, your new provider may also ask how much you want to transfer.
