Zopa Bank delivers £65 million profit in 2025

2025 was a big year for Zopa — not just in numbers, but in what those numbers represent. We delivered £65 million in underlying profit before tax, nearly doubling our 2024 performance. It marks our third full year of profitability, and another step forward in building what we’ve always set out to create: the Home of Money.

Growing with our customers

In 2025, more people chose Zopa to manage their money than ever before. We grew to 1.7 million customers, welcoming over half a million new people across savings, lending and everyday banking. And increasingly, customers aren’t just trying Zopa — they’re staying and doing more with us. Today, over one in four customers holds more than one product.

That trust is what fuels our growth:

  • Revenue increased by 24% to £377.1 million

  • Deposits grew 17% to £6.4 billion

  • Loans on our balance sheet rose 23% to £3.8 billion

We’re scaling, but we’re doing it responsibly — and with customers firmly at the centre.

Everyday banking, reimagined

2025 was also the year we stepped firmly into everyday banking.

The launch of our flagship current account, Biscuit, marked a major milestone. Rated #1 by MoneySavingExpert for cashback, perks and regular savings, it quickly became the UK’s best free current account for everyday value — attracting hundreds of thousands of customers within months.

We didn’t stop there. We also launched our Investments product, helping millions of Brits make better use of cash sitting idle — giving them simple, confident ways to grow their money. Together, these launches bring us closer to a single, seamless place where customers can manage all aspects of their finances.

Better banking all around, powered by technology

Efficiency has always been part of our DNA — and in 2025, we pushed it even further. Our cost-to-income ratio improved to 34.8%, driven by continuous innovation, automation and the growing role of AI across our business. That efficiency isn’t just about cost — it’s what allows us to reinvest in better products, better experiences, and better value for customers.

Looking ahead, we’re continuing to build a smarter, more intuitive banking experience with an AI Assistant that helps split bills and settle payments in seconds and a single app hub to view and move money across all your accounts.

Building on trust 

We’ve always believed that doing the right by customers is the best long-term strategy. As a result, Zopa today has:

  • A Net Promoter Score of 75, among the highest in financial services

  • 4.6/5 on Trustpilot

  • 10+ British Bank Awards wins

In 2025, we were also recognised as one of the UK’s fastest-growing companies and named among the UK’s most loved workplaces. For us, those aren’t just accolades — they’re signals we’re on the right track.

The road ahead

We’re proud of what we’ve achieved in 2025 — but we’re even more excited about what comes next.

Unlike much of the industry, we will continue to place significant emphasis on rewarding loyalty, and the deepening of customer relationships has been the strongest indicator of our progress towards establishing the Home of Money, a place that makes customers feel at home with their finances. Because building the Home of Money isn’t about a single year, a single product, or a single milestone. It’s about consistently showing up for customers with better ways to save, spend, borrow and grow — all in one place, and all designed around real life.
